Seven out of 25 ministers of Gujarat have criminal background.

Gujarat Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) have analyzed the self-sworn affidavits of all 25 Ministers including Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel from Gujarat State Assembly 2017. This analysis is based on the affidavits submitted by the candidates prior to the 2017 Assembly elections and bye-elections conducted thereafter.

As per the analysis, there are seven ministers in the Gujarat government who have declared pending criminal cases against them. Of the seven 3 ministers have declared serious cases against themselves says a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms.
