MEDICAL EVACUATION BY INDIAN COAST GUARD SAVES LIFE OF CRITICALLY ILL INDIAN FISHERMAN

NEW DELHI, 14 APRIL. Maritime Rescue Coordination Canter (MRCC), Mumbai received information from the owner of IFB Parvati Nandan Ganesh regarding 50 Yrs aged Indian fishermen
Mr. Mahesh Savlaram Pavarisuffering severe paralysis attack and required urgent
medical attention to prevent severe complications.
Considering the criticality of the patient, the nearest Search and Rescue Unit Indian Coast Guard Ship Arushon patrol were diverted. ICG Ship carried out a safe medical evacuation of the critically injured patient 50 N miles west of Mumbai. The patient was provided with Oxygen and intravenous medication. The patient was thereafter transferred safely for further medical management at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai with the assistance of the fishing boat owner.
Prompt and professional coordination by ICG resulted in saving the life of Mr. Mahesh Savlaram Pavari reaffirming ICG’s recognition as a savior amongst the fisher community and commitment to ICG’s motto ‘We Protect’.
