THE MIORA UTTARAKHAND CHAPTER CELEBRATED THE 45TH RAISING DAY OF MECHANISED INFANTRY REGIMENT IN DEHRADUN

DEHRADUN, 2 APRIL. The Mechanised Infantry Regiment celebrated its 45th Raising Day today with gusto and elan. The regiment is synonymous with professionalism and has a great foreseeable future.

It has taken the Mechanised Infantry half a century to carve a niche for itself in the Indian Army. With the first infantry battalion of the Indian army being equipped with armored personnel carriers in 1969-70, it is now in the third decade of the 21st century that this arm has been sanctioned by an Additional Directorate General in Army Headquarters. It has achieved institutionalizing of the School of Mechanised Warfare and is now in the
process of being re-equipped with modern technology weapons and equipment.

The Uttarakhand Chapter Veterans and Ladies celebrated its 45th Raising Day. The event was marked by bonhomie that comes from a shared past and joie de vivre based on a unanimous positive outlook for the future.

The event was attended by Major General R Prem Raj, SM, VSM, GOC Uttarakhand Sub Area, Major General Atul Rawat, AVSM, ADG NCC Uttarakhand, President MIORA Uttarakhand chapter Major General Agnihotri (Retd), Secretary MIORA Uttarakhand chapter Lieutenant Colonel V S Rawat (Retd) and other officers and ladies of the
Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
