Dehradun, 19 February. A free medical camp was organized by Swami Vivekanand Health Mission Society under the aegis of 127 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco, Garhwal Rifles on 19 Feb 2023 at Kasyali Camp of 127 Inf Battalion (TA) Eco, GARHWAL RIFLES in Yamkeshwar block.

The med camp was inaugurated by Colonel Rohit Srivastav, Commanding Officer, 127 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco, Garhwal Rifles, and Shri Vinod Dabral, who is a Zila Panchayat Sadasya by the lighting of a lamp.

In remote villages of Yamkeshwar block, the basic occupation of the villagers is agriculture
with low income and they can not afford good medical facilities. In addition, only marginal
medical facilities are available in the region to facilitate villagers with free medical check-ups
and medicines. Hence organizing this medical camp became very beneficial for the villagers.

Col Rohit Srivastav added that the medical camp witnessed an overwhelming response from
the locals and around 1000 people from surrounding villages were examined/treated and
availed the benefits of free medical advice and medicines during the Camp. He also thanked
Swami Vivekanand Health Mission Society for providing medical cover during the camp. The
event was also graced by Smt Renu Bisht, MLA, who applauded the effort by the Army.

Besides the above, medical attention for the animals was also provided by a veterinarian
doctor and a Veteran Grievance Redressal Forum was also organised at the location. In
addition, school children also gave their performances in a small cultural program. The medical
camp was widely publicized resulting in a large turnout of villagers in all age groups.
