No matter how many high-rise statues one may make or uproot the sculpted dead bodies of great men to lower the stature of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the architect of modern India, but Nehru will not belittled. At least the memories of Nehru are not going to be buried in the hearts of the hill people and especially the people of Dehradun. Because Nehru’s love for mountains was well known. Dehradun and its jail were like home for Nehru. He spent the last four days of his life in Dehradun. He spent maximum days in Almora Jail. In Dehradun itself, Nehru wrote excerpts of his classic texts. Nehru made the first big leap in the field of politics from this Dehradun. Why only Nehru, the stories related to his father Motilal Nehru and Mussoorie became legends. His daughter and grandson and their children were also schooled in this Dehradun.
