Book on Kerla Snake Bite Murder “FANGS OF DEATH” Released

Deradun. ‘Fangs of Death: The True Story of the Kerala Snake Bite Murder’, the latest book of the father-son author duo, Aloke Lal and Maanas Lal, was launched at the Doon Library and Research Centre.The book is about a gruesome crime in which a husband murdered his wife by inducing cobra bites.

The discussants at the launch were Anupma Khanna, Pooja Marwah and Shruti Gupta. They observed that the book was both gripping and educative.

The thorough research of the authors was commended. Anupma Khanna, who also moderated the launch, lauded the vivid descriptions in the book. Pooja Marwah spoke about how the book brings to the fore both the layers of suffering of the victim and the evil of the perpetrator.

Shruti Gupta said that the book must be read by students of law. The authors told the audience that this case caught their eye because the police was dealing with a murder weapon that had a mind of its own and the conviction was achieved based on only circumstantial evidence.

The book was unveiled by Geetanjali Sharma who is an author and Maanas Lal’s better half. The launch was attended by eminent citizens of the city including Author I A Sealy, DGP Abhinav Kumar, Former DGP Anil Kumar Raturi, Former Chief Secretary and Honorary Director of the Doon Library N Ravi Shanker and several others.
