Visit of MOSD Ajay Bhatt to forward posts in Uttarakhand cancelled due to bad weather

Haldwani, 18 june.The visit of the Minister of state for defence Mr. Ajay Bhatt to forward area (Joshimat/ Mana) was canceled on Sunday   due to inclement weather.

The  state minister for defence  visited  Haldwani Military Station on 18 Jun at about 1030 Hr, accompanied by his Personal secretary. He was briefed by Station Commander on long pending case pertaining to diversion of 359.5085 acres land at Sultan Nagari. He was intimated about the IPA having been forwarded by LWE Dte to MoD, as also the latest status of the case with state Govt & MoEF officials of Uttarakhand State Govt.

The minister was briefed on latest fin compensation required to be paid for cost of land. He was updated, though the waiver of cost of land has been accepted by State Govt, however levying of compound interest amounting to Rs 4.97 Cr was brought to his notice, including the contention on our part that simple interest be charged, if required (as per directions of GOC UKSA) on the initial amount of Rs 2.79 Lakhs, instead of compound interest.

The MOSD assured full departmental  assistance from his office on sub land case. He also made tele call during the briefing, to the  Subodh Uniyal, Forest Minister of UK State Govt to summon the HoFF within one month and resolve the case at the earliest. The Hon’ble RRM also requested the Forest minister to hold combined meeting with official reps of RRM, MOEF, State Govt and Defence pers, asap in future to resolve any observations, once for all.
